The Story behind Little Farm Montessori

My family's roots run deep with farming. My Grandpa was a farmer, I grew up on a farm and I even married a farmer.  The “farm life” holds a part of me and Little Farm Montessori. The farm life gives exposure to the outdoors, caring for animals, and growing produce. This provides children with endless learning opportunities such as practical life lessons, care and respect for living things, and the joy of learning about the world through nature.

Little Farm Montessori School first opened as a Montessori Preschool in our home with a backyard farm in the Boise, Idaho area. When I opened this Preschool I envisioned incorporating some of these values I had learned on the farm as a child. My heart was full when I saw my students finding the joy of learning through the Montessori method and the farm experiences.

When I became a mother, my vision for Little Farm Montessori changed. I’m so excited to expand LFM to be a resource for the entire family to offer support to families through he Montessori method. The farm aspect still remains the heart and soul of Little Farm Montessori. In a sense, each home is like a little farm. Parents are the first to plant those seeds of learning and give their children what they need to grow and thrive.

Now LFM's mission is to support parents in providing their children with a nurturing environment in the home that will encourage their children to grow to their full potential.
